KFC Towergate

KFC Towergate (Milton Keynes East) is a bustling destination for drivers making quick stops throughout the day. With the growing number of EV drivers on the road, the site offers an ideal location for rapid EV charging, allowing customers to top up their batteries while enjoying their meal.

Recognising this opportunity, KFC Towergate partnered with Roam to implement a bespoke EV charging solution using Roam’s fully funded model. This zero-cost approach covered the entire process, including installation, ongoing charger management, maintenance, and 24/7 customer support.

The project began with the installation of a 150kW rapid charger, providing two dedicated charging bays. Clear signage and bay markings make the chargers highly visible and accessible to customers. Roam connected the charger directly to the grid network and has plans to install two additional rapid chargers as power upgrades become available, ensuring the site is ready to scale based on demand.

Rapid EV charging is a valuable amenity that attracts more customers by offering convenience and time savings. At KFC Towergate, customers can charge their vehicles while stopping for lunch, enhancing their overall experience.
