The Jockey Club

The Jockey Club, the UK’s largest horseracing organisation, partnered with Roam to deliver a network of EV charging facilities across 15 of its iconic sites, including Cheltenham and Ascot. As venues that host not only races but also conferences and events, these locations needed bespoke charging solutions to cater to the diverse needs of staff, visitors, and businesses.

Roam designed a tailored approach, proposing the installation of 169 fast and rapid chargers, ranging from 22kW to 150kW. Sandown Racecourse, the largest site in the project, will feature 12 fast and 8 rapid chargers initially, with additional infrastructure for 18 fast and 4 rapid chargers to be activated as demand grows. Roam carefully assessed each location, ensuring optimal placement, power supply compatibility, and scalability for future needs.

This fully funded solution allowed The Jockey Club to implement cutting-edge EV charging without any upfront costs. Roam also provides ongoing charger management, 24/7 customer support, and utilisation monitoring to ensure seamless operation and the ability to scale as needed.
